Alaska SWPPP Violation Settlement

As part of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) ongoing effort to protect Alaska waters, EPA has reached a $6,000 settlement with McGee Industries, Inc. (McGee) for alleged construction storm water violations.

The violations occurred at the Bailey's Furniture Outlet construction site, located at 350 West International Airport Road in Anchorage, Alaska. During an EPA inspection of the site in 2005, EPA found numerous violations of EPA's Construction Storm Water General Permit (CGP). The violations include:

Improper maintenance of erosion and sediment controls at the site;
Improper selection of control measures for the maintenance area at the site; and
Various Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) violations.
