A majority of Paradigm's customers are in the real estate industry, which is why I talk about it's issues in our newsletter.
- One of real estate's key measures, The national 30 year mortgage, provides a partial estimate of whether home sales will increase or decrease. A higher rate means that homes are more expensive to buy. A lower rate usually encourages people waiting on the sidelines to buy a house to go ahead an get one.
- This week, Freddie Mac announced that the average 30 year mortgage rates set by banks was unchanged from the previous week. It had been going up. This is is a good indicator that the real estate industry may be flattening out, which would be good for Paradigm's customers.
- This past week, The Federal Reserve Chairman testified to congress and gave the first cost estimate about the impact of sub-prime lending to the real estate Industry.
- Zacher Homes has made Solar Panels a standard feature for their residential homes in Phoenix, AZ.
- Through Nationwide there have been recent construction layoffs, Colorado Springs seems to be hiring construction people
- Toll Brothers CEO talks about the Market (Reuters) Robert Toll says April '08 will mark a change in builder confidence.
- D.R. Horton, the No. 1 home builder on the 2006 BUILDER 100 is reporting net sales of 8,559 homes ($2 billion) for the third quarter of 2007. They report a drop in their new home prices, and an operating profit but a loss in asset value(existing home inventory and Land )
