Centex declared a second quarter dividend recently, amounting to four cents a share. It's not much, but the fact that they are declaring a dividend at all shows that the housing market is stabilizing nationally.
Meritage Homes CEO, based in Phoenix, AZ predicted this week that they will return to profitability by first Quarter 2008.The Average 30 and 15 Year Mortgage Rates across the US continued to drop this week. This may go up and down across the weeks, but since this is the third drop in a row, it is another good sign that the mortgage costs to buy a home are stabilizing.
North American Timber Businesses are facing stiff competition from around the world, so many are turning their forested land assets into residential and commercial land developments, with the help of builders.
